Meet Laura Whiting, PA-C, our Functional & Primary Care Provider!
Laura’s path to functional medicine after many years as a Cardiology PA began in 2018 after hearing Dr. Horacek speak—an experience that sparked a deep curiosity about root-cause, whole-person care. That curiosity led her to ongoing functional medicine training and certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). Her passion is personal.
After healing her own leaky gut and food intolerances, Laura experienced firsthand the power of functional medicine and brings that empathy into every patient partnership.
Getting to know Laura:
Favorite way to recharge or reset? If I can’t be surfing in warm waters, it’s going to yoga, or time in a sauna/ cold plunge.
Go-to activities or favorite spots in Hood River / White Salmon? With the mild winter, we’ve been enjoying hikes at Syncline or Catherine Creek. It’s remarkable to look at the path of last year’s wildfire, and the regrowth is so verdant in contrast.
Favorite podcast right now? I’ve been enjoying Hello Hormones about women’s health. Easily digestible!
One fun or unexpected thing patients might not know about you? Inspired by my daughter, I have been taking aerial silks classes for the last year and a half.
Favorite recipe at the moment? Dishing up the Dirt’s kohlrabi leek soup.
